Doi Tung Chaing Rai

Doi Tung is located in Amphoe Mae Fa Luang in the Chaing Rai Province. The summit of the mountain is 1,509 meters above sea level. The King's Mother used to spend the majority of her time in the Doi Tung Palace. As a result of her tireless efforts to improve the lives of the Thai people, this region has been blessed by her many projects.

Phra That Doi Tung
Phra That Doi Tung: Phra That Doi Tung consists of two Chedis standing side by side. They are over 300 years old and stand as a testament to Siam's greatness.

The Doi Tung Palace
The Doi Tung Palace: The Doi Tung Palace is where the King's Mother formerly resided. The palace was built in a combination of Northern Thai and Swiss styles. Like the King's Mother herself, the palace is elegant, yet humble.

Mae Fa Luang
Suan Mae Fa Luang: Suan Mae Fa Luang is a flower garden that blooms all year. However, the most beautiful time to visit is during the winter. There is also a cafeteria here that serves delicious food and fills the air with aromatic smells.

Suan Rukkhachat Mae Fa Luang
Suan Rukkhachat Mae Fa Luang: Suan Rukkhachat Mae Fa Luang is located on Doi Chang Mub. While driving here, you will see beautiful views and colorful winter plants.
How to Get There
From Chaing Rai, take Highway 1 and turn left between Kilometer Markers 870 and 871. From here, use Highway 1149 to Doi Tung. The total distance from Chaing Rai is 60 kilometers.
