Mu Koh Surin Phang-nga

Mu Koh Surin Phang-nga

Mu Koh Surin are a good place to dive because of the large coral reefs. The underwater world here is second to none. After a day in the water, you can retire to the beautiful beaches and observe the local lifestyles.
Location
Mu Koh Surin are located within the Mu Koh Surin National Park. This continuation of the Andaman Islands chain is only sixty kilometers from the Khuraburi Pier. The two main islands are Koh Surin Nua and Koh Surin Tai. However, there are many other islands in the area.

Highlights

Koh Surin Nua

Koh Surin Nua: Koh Surin Nua (north) is where the National Park Office is. Here, you will find plenty of accommodations as well as camping areas and restaurants. There is a long-tail boat service to explore the many beaches like Ao Chong Khad, Ao Sai En, Ao Sai Daeng and Ao Mai Ngam.

Koh Surin Tai

Koh Surin Tai: Koh Surin Tai (south) is almost as large as its bigger sister, but
there are no inhabitants or accommodations to be found. While this may deter some visitors, people interested in seeing virgin beaches and forests will find this a haven. Some of the beaches every visitor should see are Ao Bon, Ao Phak Kad, Ao Tao, and Ao Suthep. Divers will particularly enjoy the underwater nature studies route maintained by the park personnel.

Koh Tolinla
Koh Pachumba
Koh Stock

The Nearby Islands: There are three other islands in the area worth visiting. These are Koh Tolinla, Koh Pachumba, and Koh Stock. While these places don't offer much for beachcombers, divers will be hard pressed to find a more fertile undersea world.

How to Get There
From the town of Phang-nga, take Highway 4 to Khuraburi. Drive along this highway until you reach kilometer marker 721. Turn left here and continue for two kilometers to the Khuraburi Pier. From here you can take a boat to the islands. The boats depart once a day at 9:00 am. The boat trip takes three to four hours.
