The waterfalls in Nakhon Si Thammarat play an important part in the lives of the locals in the area. Their beauty and purity shows us how important our environment is.

Location
The Khao Luang National Park is located in Amphoe Muang, Amphoe Phi Pun, Amphoe Phrom Khiri, Amphoe Lan Saka, Amphoe Chawang, King Amphoe Chang Klang, and King Amphoe Nopphitam. The mountainous landscape of this region produces the many creeks that feed the waterfalls. The National Park Office is in Amphoe Lan Saka.

Highlights

The Karom Waterfall: The Karom Waterfall is in Tambon Khao Kaeo, Amphoe Lan Saka, near the National Park Office. This is a moderate waterfall and runs through a wide stone field.

The Krung Ching Waterfall: The Krung Ching Waterfall is at Tambon Krung Ching in Amphoe Nopphitam. To get here, use Highway 4016. Turn left toward King Amphoe Nopphitam and then turn right onto Highway 4186. The total distance is seventy kilometers. This is a large waterfall and considered to be the most beautiful in the Khao Luang National Park.

The Phrom Lok Waterfall:Jhe Phrom Lok Waterfall is an immense waterfall with four levels and has a wide stone area. This waterfall is located in Phrom Lok. To get here, take Highway 4016 until you reach kilometer marker twenty and turn left to Highway 4132. You will then need to go straight for five kilometers.

khiaw Waterfall:To get here, use the same directions as those for the Phrom Lok Waterfall, turn at Kilometer Marker twenty-six instead. Even though this waterfall is small, it does not diminish its beauty.

Rafting on Khlong Klai: The water in this river comes from the Khao Luang Forest. Here you will find a small creek. The water is not deep and is surrounded by fertile woodlands. The rafting here is not technically challenging, but the views more than make up for it. There are several rafting operators in the area to help you with everything you will need. The rafting trip takes about three hours.

How to Get There
Take Highway 4015 from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Lan Saka. Drive along the road for twenty-nine kilometers. Turn at the National Park exit and continue along the road for three kilometers. The total distance is thirty-two kilometers.
