Ranong Beach

Ranong Beach is a quiet area, which receives a lot of precipitation. When the rain ceases in the summer, the beaches become a wonderful place to bask on the sand. This is the best time to enjoy the beautiful sights and your privacy at the same time. Location
Ranong Beach and the nearby islands of Koh Kam Yai and Koh Kam Nui are all part of the Laem Son National Park. In addition, there are eight other islands in the immediate area. The National Park Office is in Amphoe Kapoe.

Highlights

Had Bang Bain: Had Bang Bain Beach is a long beach with yellow sand. In addition to ample accommodations and campsites, there are many pine trees scattered about to offer shade. This is the location of the National Park Office. During the dusk hours, tourists and locals alike come to enjoy colorful sky as the sunsets over the ocean.

Had Laem Son: Had Laem Son is four kilometers from Had Bang Bain. This beach has clean sand and many trees making this a haven for birds. Birdwatchers from all over the kingdom like to camp here and be surrounded by the objects of their affection.

Koh Kam Yai:A one hour boat ride from Had Bang Bain will take you to the shores of Koh Kam Yai. This beautiful island has white-sand beaches and many sites perfect for camping.

Koh Khang Khao: Koh Khang Khao is a half-an-hour boat ride from Had Bang Bain. There are many pristine beaches, but most people come for the snorkeling and diving.

HadPraphat: Near Koh Kam Nui, behind the Kam Phuan Village, is Had Praphat. While the sand is not as white as the surrounding areas, this is by far the most peaceful. During the midday sun, you can retreat to the shade of one of the many pine trees that litter this beach.

How to Get There
From the town of Ranong, take Highway 4 to Phang-nga. Drive for forty-five kilometers until you reach kilometer marker 657. Turn right here and continue down the road for ten kilometers. At the end you will find the National Park Office. The total distance from Ranong is fifty-five kilometers.
